Maine Wardens are crediting one of their K-9s with rescuing a man from a wooded area in driving rain over night Monday morning in the town of Montville.
Wardens say they were called in when 46-year-old Michael McCoy did not return home after leaving his residence with his two dogs Sunday evening.
They say one of the dogs returned home without McCoy later in the evening with friends and neighbors originally called to help search with no luck. Maine State Police also arrived on scene and assisted with a search of the residence.
Wardens say their handler, Dory Kulis, and her K9 Lucy located McCoy in a wooded area approximately 3/4 of a mile from the residence during heavy rain and wind at about 2:25 am Monday.
They say McCoy was alive and with his other dog, uninjured but soaked from the driving rain. Wardens escorted McCoy back to his residence and say Medical treatment was not necessary.
