A Maine State Police Trooper is a hero after they stopped a wrong way driver on I-95 in Bangor.
On Saturday Night a Maine Game Walden spotted a truck weaving in and out of traffic, tried to make a traffic stop but the truck kept going and decide during the chase to go into a restricted emergency vehicle crossover.
With the truck going the wrong way, a police vehicle driven by a State Police Sergeant rammed the truck, forcing it off the roadway and into a ditch, where another trooper and the warden boxed it in.
The driver, 60-year-old Lawrence Knowles of Norridgewock is accused of stealing the truck from Skowhegan and faces multiple felony and misdemeanor charges, including Eluding an Officer, OUI Drugs, Reckless Conduct with a Dangerous Weapon, Aggravated Operating After Habitual Offender Revocation, Violation of Conditions of Release, and Refusing to Submit to Arrest.
Before being booked at the Penobscot County Jail, he was taken to a local hospital for minor injuries.
