Portland Police Offering $5,000 Reward to Solve Homicide Cold Case

The Portland Police Department is partnering with Seacoast Crime Stoppers to develop a homicide investigation of an eight year old cold case.

A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered through Seacoast for information that leads to the arrest or indictment in the killing of Sunao “Tom” Yamada.

Yamada was found dead in the area of Temple and Federal Street, and Portland Police say they’ve conducted a detailed and exhaustive investigation into his death in the years since.

The Medical Examiner determined the manner of death to be a homicide.

Seacoast Crime Stoppers is a volunteer-run non-profit organization that operates in New Hampshire and southern Maine, providing an anonymous channel for citizens to report unsolved crimes to local police and offering cash rewards for information leading to arrests.
