Police Investigate Homicide of Woman in Waldoboro

A 53-year-old Waldoboro woman is dead after police say she was the victim of a homicide.

Officers say they found the body of Levern Kelley at a home on Genthner Road Saturday after being called in by a person checking on her well-being. 

An autopsy found her manner of death to be homicide.

Police say Kelley’s cause of death is not being released at this time. They have also not released any information about any suspects in the homicide.

Her body was located by Waldoboro Police Officers and Lincoln County Sheriff Deputies at 8:25 am Saturday.  The Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit-Central conducted an investigation. An autopsy was performed Sunday by the Office of Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta.
