Air quality on the Maine coast is expected to worsen on Tuesday, with elevated ozone levels expected to move into the state.
The Maine Department of Environmental Protection says coastal air, along with high elevations of Acadia National Park are expected to be “Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups.”

When air is “Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups,” people with heart or lung disease, older adults, those who work outdoors, teenagers, and children should reduce prolonged or heavy exertion.
Inland areas, including the eastern and western interior and the western mountains, are expected to have moderate ozone levels.
There’s no impact on ozone levels in the northern part of the state.
Particle Pollution is Moderate for most of the state and Good for the Northern region.
