Man Dead in Fiery Crash on I-295 in Bowdoinham

A man is dead from a fiery crash on Sunday afternoon on I-295 in Bowdoinham Sunday afternoon.

State Police say they received numerous reports of a fire on Interstate 295 at mile 37 southbound in the town of Bowdoinham.

They say their preliminary investigation indicates the vehicle, driven by 52-year-old Nicholas Disy of Milford, Pennsylvania, was traveling southbound when it left the roadway and entered the median.

Officers say the vehicle struck several trees at a high rate of speed and caught fire.

Police say Disy was the sole occupant of the vehicle. No other vehicles were involved.
