A 47-year-old Woolwich man is dead, and a dog is injured from a crash in Brunswick when a vehicle fell from a bridge to the ground.

Police say Shannon MacGregor was driving a 2013 Dodge Journey on the Route 196 on-ramp toward Route 1 when the vehicle went off the road, up an icy embankment, over the barrier, and fell to the ground below.

Police say MacGregor was declared dead at the scene, while a dog in the car was reportedly hurt and taken to the emergency vet, though is expected to be okay.

The Brunswick Police Department’s Crash Reconstruction Unit is continuing the investigation of the crash, which took place on Friday night.
