Bribery scheme involving inmate leads to indictments for three former York County corrections officers

Three former corrections officers at York County Jail accused of accepting money from an inmate have been indicted.

The sheriff’s office says it received information in April about officers receiving payments for allowing contraband into the jail.

Kayleigh Hamilton, Emma Kehoe and Zarek Melick resigned during the investigation and were all charged with receiving improper gifts as a public servant.

The inmate, Connor McGlone, was indicted on charges of conspiracy and providing improper gifts and transferred to the Maine State Prison.

All four are scheduled to be arraigned in Biddeford on Dec. 18.
