I’m a native of New England, born & raised in the Boston area, where I spent countless hours glued to a radio whenever and wherever he could.  I attended elementary school in Cambridge – which included my “first dj gig” in kindergarten for “Show & Tell” Day, bringing in my newest records to share with the class.  I graduated from Burlington High – where I ran the school’s in-house radio station, WAVR, and then attended Grahm Junior College in Boston as a broadcast major.   In 1977, I enlisted in the Navy.  After a year on-board the destroyer USS Cone in Charleston, SC, I have made Maine my home since 1978 when I was assigned to the Brunswick Naval Air Station.   While still in the Navy, I finally landed that first radio job in 1979 at what was then WCSH-AM 970 in Portland, working part-time on the weekends as my Navy schedule allowed.  Honorably discharged from the Navy in 1981, I was hired full-time at WGAN-AM 560 in Portland.  My radio experience includes stations in Boston (WHDH, WBZ, WROR, WKLB) as well as other stations in Maine (WPOR, WIDE/WYJY, WABK).

My wife Debbie & I have been married since 1982, making our home in South Portland where we’ve raised three pretty terrific kids – Erin and Emily, the oldest two, are teachers in the South Portland schools, and our youngest, Connor, works in Portland as a computer software engineer.  The extended family includes two sons-in-law (Erin’s husband Greg and Emily’s husband Damien), three grandchildren and the family dogs – Erin & Greg’s beagle, Nemo, and Emily & Damien’s beagle, Dory.

When I’m not on the radio, I try to keep by busy with my involvement with a variety of area non-profits such as the South Portland Historical Society and The Durham Warriors Project, just to name a few.
