It’s Rewind 100.9’s 14th Annual Stuff The Bus Food Drive to benefit Preble Street.

Now in their 44th year, Preble Street operates three full-time kitchens and a food pantry to aid our fellow Portland-area residents who would otherwise go hungry. This includes families and individuals who may be employed but sometimes have to choose between basic necessities such as paying for housing or being able to provide enough food to meet their needs.

There is a huge need for donations to help Preble Street serve more than 630,000 meals per year!

As with any helping-hands group such as Preble Street, non-perishable food items can be stored and used as needed on a day-to-day basis, but foods such as meat, dairy and bread can NOT be “kept on a shelf.”  Each dollar donated to Preble Street gives them the buying power of an average of up to 7 pounds of food!

School children in Portland, South Portland, Cape Elizabeth, Scarborough and Falmouth have collected THOUSANDS of pounds of non-perishable food items which have been loaded onto a Custom Coach & Limousine big yellow school bus.

Then, during the days before Thanksgiving, YOU can help us finish Stuffing The Bus!  We’ll be at Hannaford in South Portland near the Maine Mall Monday & Tuesday, 11/25 & 11/26 from 7am to 7pm, and then Wednesday, November 27th at the Hannaford Back Cove off Forest Avenue in Portland from 7am to 11:45am.

You can donate non-perishable food items, cash, checks made payable to “Preble Street,” or securely, online, at the link below.
